Celebrating Eight Years of Faithful Catholic Higher Education

 

Our Lady Seat of Wisdom Academy is hosting a Gala Dinner on Saturday, April 5th, 2008 at Germania Hall, 15 Bennett Street in Pembroke, ON.   Doors open at 6:30 p.m.

 

The keynote address will be given by His Excellency Michael Mulhall, Bishop of Pembroke.  For those able to attend, prior to the dinner, Bishop Mulhall will be offering a Vigil Mass for Sunday at 5 p.m. at St. Columbkille Cathedral.  Music at the Mass will be presented by the Academy Schola choir, under the direction of Maestro Uwe Lieflander. 

 

The Gala Dinner is an opportunity for us to tell you about OLSWA and to introduce our new president.  Of course, the evening will also be an opportunity for you to enjoy delicious food and wine (catered by Ulrich’s Catering), stimulating conversation and delightful entertainment (all in the best Catholic tradition!).

 

Bishop Michael Mulhall will address “The Place of Higher Education in the Mission of our Diocesan Church.”

 

President Dr. David Warner will describe the Academy’s history, mission and vision for the future.

 

Alumna Elizabeth O’Brien, B.A., will reflect on her experience at OLSWA, and what it has meant for her education and life. 

 

The event will be emceed by our Vice-President, Dr. Christine Schintgen. 

 

Plates for the gala dinner at $50 each.  (Contributions above this amount are tax-deductible).    Tables of eight ($400) and tables of ten ($500) are also available for purchase.  In addition, the Bishop's table (seats 8) can be purchased for $2,400 and the President's table (seats 8) can be purchased for $1,200.

 

 

All are welcome to come out and support the Academy’s mission in higher education! 

 

To reserve your place, please contact the Academy either by phone (613-756-3082, toll-free at 877-369-6520), or e.mail (attention Maria Reilander at mreilander@seatofwisdom.org).   Please R.S.V.P. by March 24, 2008 at the latest.  Plates and tables must be purchased in advance.

  • Hors d’oeuvres and wine – 6:30 p.m.
  • Welcome/Introduction/Grace – 7 p.m.
  • Three-course Dinner
  • Keynote Address by Bishop Michael Mulhall
  • Address by Academy President, Dr. David Warner
  • DVD presentation about OLSWA
  • Address by Alumna Elizabeth O’Brien
  • Live Music by Academy Students
  • Appreciations and closing prayer
