Emily Haig ('09)
![]() Three-Year Program Graduate
Combermere, ON
Emily received her B.A. in Humanities from Redeemer University College after attending OLSWA for three years. She is currently at Dalhousie University in Halifax in the Costume Studies for Theatre program, where she is learning many practical skills in costuming. She writes: "OLSWA is where I got my first costuming experience, working on The Learned Ladies and The Tempest. Also, the Academy gave me a rock-solid Catholic formation, in which I learned how to think logically and to understand the Church's teachings.... It has been invaluable, especially as a try to make my way in a secular, society. In every class at OLSWA, I was learning something profound and it all made sense and fit into one cohesive picture. It really is so freeing, a true liberal education! Outside of class, there were so many fun times with people I could really trust. After high school I was really unsure what to do and felt ill-prepared to face the world. When the idea of attending the Academy came up I knew it was right. I would do it all again!"
