Pembroke, ON
After attending the Academy for one year, Dan decided to enter the police force. He studied Police Foundations at Algonquin College and worked as an OPP Auxiliary Member before entering the Royal Canadian Mounted Police “Depot” Division. Graduating this summer with high marks after an intensive six-moth training program, Dan is now an RCMP constable and is currently posted in Alberta. OLSWA’s first Mountie writes: “Attending OLSWA for one year was the perfect first step. Unsure of what field I wanted to enter after high school, studying a variety of subjects at the Academy opened my mind to all the possibilities. The strong writing and communication skills I developed at the OLSWA has been very helpful in my work, particularly in writing reports coherently and efficiently. I am especially grateful for the strong friendships I made during my year. My friends and I were able to connect on a deeper level because of our common faith and shared Academy experiences, and they continue to be a great source of support and friendship.”
