National March for Life 2011
Thursday, 19 May 2011 20:50

Over 15,000 pro-lifers congregated under sunny skies at Parliament Hill in Ottawa, ON, on May 12 for the 14th National March for Life.  There was a record breaking number of participants, and most of the faces in the sea of people were of youth under 20 years of age.  The Canadian March for Life, which falls after the end of OLSWA’s academic year, is always a form of OLSWA reunion as students, alumni and even faculty and staff meet up to march for the dignity of human life and an end to abortion.

OLSWA alumni and students were a visible presence at the March.  Alumna Alissa Golob, Campaign Life Coalition’s Youth Director was emcee at the Parliament Hill rally, and also spoke at the Youth Conference on the following day.  Kathleen Dunn, who will begin her 3rd year at OLSWA this fall, interviewed March participants as part of DunnMedia’s coverage of the March in collaboration with Campaign Life Coalition.   Recent third-year graduate Noelle Platt and also first-year student Alannah Walker were among the youth interviewed. First-year student Alannah Walker of Ottawa also shares her gratitude to her birth parents for choosing life in the “Power of Youth” video, and her full interview can be viewed here.
