| Mosielski Family Scholarship |
|
In the spring of 2010, the Mosielski Family established a new scholarship at OLSWA in memory of the beloved Boguslaw Mosielski, a Polish artist who settled with his family in Barry’s Bay, and passed away in 2004. At the 2011 OLSWA Graduation, second-year student Faye Breen received the Mosielski Family Scholarship of $1000 awarded to “a student entering third year who is noted for academic excellence and who intends to pursue further studies.”
Artist and Writer in Residence, Michael D. O’Brien, offered the following words about Mr. Mosielski: “Boguslaw Mosielski was one of Canada's most gifted artists, a man of great intelligence and creativity. His love for his native Poland was evident throughout his life, expressed by his promotion of Polish culture and traditions in his adopted country Canada. From the beginning of its foundation, he encouraged the growth of Our Lady Seat of Wisdom Academy, since he saw in it a new hope for the renewal of both faith and culture. He is greatly missed, yet his legacy lives on through his art and through the lives of students who will benefit by his memory."
OLSWA would like to thank the Mosielski family for remembering their beloved husband, father and brother through a scholarship that will benefit deserving students pursuing excellence in Catholic higher education.
