Donate in USA through Friends of OLSWA
We are proud to announce the creation of a new U.S. Non-profit corporation, Friends of Our Lady Seat of Wisdom Academy (FOLSWA).
FOLSWA is incorporated in the state of Pennsylvania, and is able to issue receipts for tax-deductible charitable donations and thus can raise funds for the Academy in America. FOLSWA has applied for tax exempt status under Sec. 501(c)(3) of the IRS code.
This is exciting news for our American supporters of OLSWA!
There are numerous reasons why Americans choose to support OLSWA. Most obviously, it welcomes American students, who find it an affordable alternative to other orthodox Catholic institutions. So far we have had students from seventeen American states, and interest in OLSWA continues to build. This is especially so in light of the fact that we continue to be highly recommended by The Newman Guide to Catholic Colleges.
In the past, American Catholics have attended OLSWA for up to three years before completing their undergraduate studies at U.S. Catholic colleges such as Christendom College and Franciscan University (Steubenville). Several OLSWA students have gone on to earn graduate degrees at American universities. (See the highlighted article on Page 4 of our Summer 2009 Veritas newsletter, “OLSWA Alumni Thrive at American Institutions.”)
The Academy’s graduates will play — are playing — a key role in helping to rebuild a sadly damaged culture. Our American supporters choose to stretch out a helping hand to an institution which is so important for the health of a neighbor.
Friends of OLSWA is dedicated to supporting the renewal of faithful Catholic higher education in North America by helping Our Lady Seat of Wisdom Academy through financial contributions, promotion and related activities and programs in the United States. The founding members and directors of FOLSWA are Frederick Erb III (Chairman), Heather McAdam Erb, Patrick Keith Leffas, Nancy Elena Nicholson, Sheila O'Brien, Richard Sauro, and Michael Schintgen.
Donating US funds:
Contributions to OLSWA can now be made by writing a check payable to “Friends of OLSWA” or “FOLSWA” and mailed to P. O. Box 1036, State College, PA 16804-1036 USA. A receipt suitable for U.S. tax purposes will be issued.
To donate securely online through PayPal, use the "Friends of OLSWA" function on the right sidebar.

Support OLSWA through Workplace Charitable Campaign |
|
Our supporters may be interested to know that the Academy is eligible for donations through the Workplace Charitable Campaign currently taking place in Canada. Individuals who work for the government—and even some private firms—can choose to have donations removed directly from their pay cheques, eliminating the hassle of writing cheques and sending in donations. The Academy is on the list of registered charities available here, and OLSWA’s business number is 887208122RR0001. To learn more about the Workplace Charitable Campaign, here's a useful link.

Our Lady Seat of Wisdom is a private institution that relies solely on the generosity of benefactors and its low cost tuition fees for its full operational budget. OLSWA was founded on the dream of offering not only an excellent Catholic liberal arts program, but one that is affordable for today's young people. We belive all students seeking an academically excellent and faithfully Catholic post-secondary education should have an opportunity to study at Our Lady Seat of Wisdom. As such, we look to our benefactors for support so that tuition can be kept at an affordable level.
Through God's providence and the ongoing generosity of our supporters, we have grown from a one-year program with three professors and a handful of students to a three-year program with nearly 100 students from across North America. We are tremendously grateful that we have been able, with your help, to play an important and formative role in the lives of more than 200 alumni.
We thank all our donors and friends for their prayers and support, and we offer a special thanks to the Diocese of Pembroke and the St. Hedwig Parish community for their support and encouragement. |
